Put your Body in good hands
About Ray

I get asked a lot why I initially got into massage therapy. For me, it all started back during my high school years. I was a big sports guy and during a wrestling tournament, I slipped on the mat trying to perform a tricky move that involved a body throw. I landed hard on the ground with my opponent on top of me and my head in an uncomfortable position. I could hardly move; my entire back hurt so bad I couldn’t lift myself up. It was an awful experience.

My parents took me to a nearby hospital to see what injuries I had.  After all the tests were done, they concluded that I had torn multiple muscles and ligaments in my upper back and neck. They prescribed me with physical therapy and massage therapy to help treat my recent injury twice a week for 12 weeks. During the first session of my massage therapy, I fell in love with it. It was a great experience and changed my perspective on the benefits of touch and massage therapy. It’s such a powerful treatment. Within the first session, I felt so much better. I could move without holding my breath in fear of feeling pain.

I went home and I read up on everything I could find about massage therapy. A friend of mine went to school for massage therapy and lent me his textbooks. I read and read. I would practice on anyone I could get my hands on: friends, family, and my friends’ parents and teammates before a wrestling meet or tournament all helped me craft my skill. They felt the powerful benefits of massage therapy. In just a short amount of time, massage therapy became my passion and I furthered my education at Globe University. I earned my Associate degree in applied science in massage therapy and have over 500 hours of experience in anatomy, physiology, and massage modalities. It’s been 5 years since I started pursuing my passion and I look forward to continuing to grow not only as a massage therapist but as an individual.
